numbers for units are way off..
these numbers are way off....

something along the above lines.....
However you then need to upgrade your tanks.. there is no way an infantry/rifle/sniper/shotgun unit should be able to beat a tank unit.. or atleast not as easy as it seems to be.
you need to rework the numbers from least powerful to most powerful.. so you do not go through the game with a sniper unit and beat everything. Instead you should need to upgrade..

Once you reach a milestone to receive an award.. you should be able to change units knowing they get tougher

I guess I could add something like a strong against and vulnerable to feature so that for example: sniper units are good against troops but vulnerable to tanks. And that Aircraft carriers where good against battle ships but vulnerable to submarines. etc.

this would be great.. but you only need to rework the numbers so there is not a huge advantage..
open a spread sheet and list your units in each category and list them from toughest unit to weakest and then make the numbers so they run right.

of course play with the numbers for defense etc also.. eg.. soldiers defense shouldn't be higher than 30 armor defense should be 40+ etc
as you have bonus items.. you can increase a units power etc like you have with ships.
This will make it a need to upgrade to continue to advance.

I mean I know you have an idea for what your game needs to be.. and you should stick to it.. but you shouldn't be able to win using a sniper unit only

The problem is I have tried this in the past and then the game becomes to predictable. At the minute the code has certain random elements to it which in very rare and i mean very very rare cases a rifle men unit could destroy say a light tank. But it is influence by how much attacking potential the items have. If i changed it so that sniper could not win against other units then the game just becomes to predictable I think. And I have used a sniper unit and yes you win a few times but eventually because of the randomness in the code you eventually loss.

submarine has bug in item: Item: Triomphant class, need 50 technology to be able to have it.
